I want to continue today on the theme from last week where I talked about inner peace, and I told you that the tools I gave you, the tips I gave you, you can practice them, and you can no longer say that you don’t know how to attain inner peace, because I gave you the tools to do it for yourself in a really relatively short, simple way.
So there’s one more thing that I want to add today. And I just want to tell you, you want inner peace? You got it! And I’m going to give you this extra tip or way to access inner peace today.
So I’m Anna Gatmon, and wherever you’re watching this, this is coming to you from The Expansive with Anna Gatmon YouTube channel.
You want inner peace. You search for it everywhere. You are overwhelmed by everything that’s going on in the world, and it’s affecting you. It’s hard to stop, then use external stimulation, and whatever, you know, upheaval it has on you, whatever effect all of this upheaval has on you– It’s hard to stop and experience inner peace.
But here’s my question to you: How do you know that you’re not experiencing inner peace, yet?
How do you know that you’re not experiencing inner peace? Or how do you know when you’re not in a state of inner peace? You see, the fact is that you already know when you don’t experience inner peace, you know that, you know when you need to go for a free YouTube video with some meditative music to give you some inner peace. So how do you know that? You’re already an expert on when you don’t experience inner peace and therefore when you do experience inner peace.
So let’s think for a second, how do you know when you’re not experiencing inner peace? So, your breath– maybe it’s shallow. Your posture– maybe it’s kind of tight and closed. Your thoughts– maybe there are circular kind of repetitive thoughts of worry, and maybe even panic. What is your feeling state? Do you feel hopeless? You feel scared? Anxiety? And how is it affecting the decisions that you’re making throughout the day? Are you paralyzed? Are you able to function or are you making bad decisions, and you feel like everything is not going your way? Like everything is kind of going against you?
These are just a few examples for you to cue in and just check in with yourself. Am I in a state where I’m not experiencing inner peace?
And so I am suggesting that these kinds of questions is what you automatically are checking in with yourself when you say, “Oh, I need some inner peace. I don’t have it.” You are already the expert, and you know that. So now let’s ask the other question: How do you know when you’re already in a state of inner peace? How do you know when you’re experiencing tranquility and ease and a deep sense of inner peace? Because I’m suggesting that, you know when you are experiencing inner peace, so you can ask yourself the same questions again.
My breath, my breath is more calm and deep. How’s your posture? Well, maybe you’ll answer, Well, it’s, it’s open and spacious. You may ask yourself, what are the thoughts that I have running in my head? Well, actually, I don’t have running thoughts. It’s just some just more in the moment and I feel, well, my feelings are, I feel tranquility. I feel trust, trust in the universe, trust in myself and making the right decisions. I just feel calm. And how does it affect your decision making and your actions throughout that day? Well, you know already that when you feel peacefulness, you make decisions that are better. They’re more aligned and more advantageous for yourself, for your family, or the specific situation that you are in.
They’re more of a win-win decision and win-win opportunity or action that you can take. How are you feeling now? I tricked you a bit because just by thinking of how do you feel when you experience inner peace, you’re already feeling more inner peace, right? You’re feeling more tranquility. I mean, I just noticed that the speed, the rate at which I speak, slowed down my whole voice– everything. My body posture slowed down. My movements slowed down just a bit. More ease, more relaxation.
And so you see, I’m here to tell you that you are an expert on inner peace. You don’t have to desperately look for it, thinking, ‘how will I ever find it? Who is going to give it to me? This meditation, that free meditation.’ You know, when you don’t experience inner peace, and I gave you some cues to figure out why, and you definitely know when you are experiencing inner peace and I gave you a few cues that you can check-in and say, Oh yes, I’m in a state of inner peace now.
And just as you check with yourself, ‘am I in a constricted posture? Or am I more spacious?’ The minute you go into a more spacious posture, you calm your nervous system and you calm your breathing. And so you feel more peacefulness just by doing that. So you can use those cues to even, on purpose, create more stress and less tranquility and peace in your system and your whole body and your nervous system. And likewise, more spaciousness, relaxation, calm and ease through your breath, your posture, paying attention to your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions.
So practice this, try this, and see how you are already the expert of when you are in a state of inner peace and when you’re not. And this is a key for you to experience inner peace whenever you want.
