I want to talk to you today about expanding beyond fear and isolation while we are all sheltering in place during the COVID-19 world pandemic.
I’m Anna Gatmon, and wherever you’re watching this, this is coming to you from The Expansive with Anna Gatmon YouTube channel.
Now, if you think about it, being in an expansive consciousness allows you to take in a larger field of reality, and so you experience more compassion for somebody else because you can see their perspective. You can be kinder to yourself. You feel that you’re part of something larger so that you’re connected to a wholeness, the wholeness of life.
So an expansive consciousness is connected to love and all of its derivatives. It’s connected to creativity, to flow, to wholeness, to bliss. In the same way, a constricted state of mind, a constricted consciousness, is connected to separation, to fear, to isolation, to feeling forsaken, to self-doubt, to lack of worthiness. Why? Because when you’re constricted, you see less of the map than when you’re expanded.
Take a GPS on your smartphone. It just shows you the next step of what you need to do, right? Just turn right in a hundred yards or something. Just the next step. Whereas, if you look at an old paper map, you get a whole view of a region or of a city and there’s so many more options, so many more connections. Well, the same happens with your consciousness.
When you’re in an expansive consciousness, you remember how precious you are, how precious our planet is, how precious animals are, nature, trees. You care for other people on the other side of the planet. You care for yourself much more.
And when you are in a constricted state of mind, you feel isolated. You feel separated.
It’s us and them. Them against us.
It’s “I’m here for me. I needed to take care of myself. I don’t care about anybody else, anything else. No one’s taking care of me. Why should I take care of somebody else?”
Or, you doubt yourself because you’re not connected to this larger reality where you see that you’re part of something larger, and so you feel forsaken, you feel alone, you feel separated.
And with that comes a lack of self-esteem, low self-worthiness, lack of confidence.
And so you see, in a sense, it’s very simple. You get to choose. Every moment, every day, you get to choose: Do I want to be in a more constricted state of mind or in a more expansive state of mind?
Now you want to be choosing that always– every day, every week, every month, every year. But when we go through a world pandemic like we’re going right now, where the whole world is in isolation, and the whole world is in stress and overwhelm, you need to work harder to be present because everything has changed.
Maybe you’re working more than before, or maybe you’re not working at all.
Maybe you have financial issues that you didn’t have before.
Maybe you’re isolated.
Whatever it is, there’s a pressure cooker, and the conditions are much harder for you to be present in order to stay in an expansive state. And so I want to invite you to practice being in a more expansive state. Again, more loving, more spacious, more blissful, more caring for yourself and also caring for others in your immediate community or on the other side of the planet.
This is the time to practice expansiveness versus constriction more than before because there’s so much more fear in humanity and in the air today, and everything is more intense.
And so it’s really up to you to decide, “Can I be more spacious today? Can I be kinder today? Can I be more loving today? Can I be more creative today?”
This is the time to practice spiritual teachings. This is the time to practice gratitude. This is the time to practice self-appreciation, both of which will bring you into a more expansive state of mind.
Now, the expansive path is all about bringing an expansive state of mind, an expansive state of being, and an expansive state of consciousness into all of your life– into your relationships, into your finances, into your work, into your life purpose and calling, into your lifestyle, into your spiritual development, into your health and your self-care.
And so I’m going to be offering the expansive path course sometime in the coming week or two.
Stay tuned for that because it is really going to help you to live in an expansive state, be in an expensive state, and make decisions, take actions, and find solutions that are unique for this time in your life because they’re very unique for all of us.
No one has been in this situation before, so you really want to be in an expensive state as you make decisions about your life, your relationships, your finances, whatever challenges you are facing, and whatever dreams you want to bring into life and into realization during this time, because of this time, and as we pass through this time into the next phase of the world and humanity.
So more on than that as I get prepared to launch this course, but for now, just practice being in a more expansive state in small things throughout your day, however you can do it.
