I’d like for you to consider today the possibility that each one of us, you, me, each one of us, is like a pollinating bee, moving from flower to flower, gathering grains of pollen and nectar and just going a flower to flower and pollinating our planet this way. And that we, human beings, you and I and everybody, are doing the same thing in every action and interaction and expression that we’re doing.
So I was in the garden yesterday and I decided to sit in a low chair by a bush with silver leaves and tiny purple flowers. And I wasn’t meditating. With my eyes closed, I was more kind of wanting to blend with nature. And so I had my eyes open and I took the sun in and there was some wind that came and went and I was looking at the flowers, at what each flowers and the petals looked like. And slowly, slowly, just kind of slowing down and becoming one with nature.
And suddenly a bee appeared and the bee went from flower to flower, and it stayed in each flower for a few seconds and then buzzed out and then buzzed back into another flower and then out. And this way when it came closer and closer to where my head was so I could see its eyes and its wings clearly. It was just beautiful.
And suddenly I had this idea that came to me. Wow, the bees pollinate.
But when we walk around throughout our day and share our thoughts and opinions and ideas and the products we create and the actions we make. All the time, we’re actually pollinating. We’re doing the same thing. We’re creating this human diversity when we’re pollinating our thoughts.
I mean, they’re people who have influenced you, and they don’t even know that you walk around and there’s a saying that they said, or a recipe that you tasted from them once or something you heard a long time ago and it’s part of who you are.
They left grain of their pollen through the Internet online or by meeting them in person in some interaction, and that grain of pollen is now part of you. And you are mixing it with your unique pollen. And so in your interactions and your actions and everything that you do, now you’re sharing that.
Sometimes you’re sharing exactly the same gift, the recipe or the saying or the piece of wisdom or the opinion that you heard somewhere else or you got some somewhere else.
And other times it’s mixed, and it’s become like a synthesis off what you heard. And it resonated with you so much that now it’s part of you and you’ve transformed it into something else that you now share.
And so you see how we’re actually pollinating each other.
So let’s say that we’re each these flowers, we’re each of flower. And as we interact with each other and as we express ourselves in the presence of somebody else, somebody else receives our transmission. Whether it’s online or it’s in person, we’re actually pollinating each other with emotions, with thoughts, with attitudes, with behaviors, with principles, values, beliefs, everything. We’re all the time pollinating our world and pollinating each other.
So I want to leave you with that possibility. I don’t want it to be just an image or an idea. I want you to consider it as a possibility for you to practice seeing yourself as a bee and as a flower open to pollination from other experiences, other human beings, from nature, anything that comes through your senses is actually pollinating you.
And then yourself, as a bee as well ,with everything you’re doing. And if you do it with intention in a sacred way then you are like the bee, gently pollinating other flowers, humanity, and our planet.
So leave me a comment. Practice this and then share below how it was. What it feels like to walk around being a flower that other bees might be attracted to, as well as being a bee who is sharing grains of your pollen in everything that you’re doing, everyone you’re interacting with, and every expression and every action that you take.
I like your approach!
