Expansive with Anna Gatmon here, today I want to talk about how you can become an oasis for peace. In your life, in your world, and in the world. I’m going to share another message from Eileen Caddy’s book, Opening Doors Within Daily Meditations, that I read every day. And just as a reminder, Eileen Caddy was one of the co-founders of the Findhorn spiritual community, ecovillage, and education center in Northern Scotland, where I had the beginnings of my spiritual awakenings. And so I want to read a message from Eileen from September 2nd. And then I’ll talk about how you can become an oasis for peace in the world.
“When your desire is to bring peace and harmony into the world, then you will have to start by finding peace and harmony within your own heart. It is a waste of time talking about peace. You have to seek and find that consciousness of peace, which nothing, and no one can disturb, and remain in it. In that state of consciousness, you will be able to be effective and help to bring peace and harmony into the lives of the many. Be consciously aware of peace and harmony in your own life first, and like a stone thrown into the middle of a pond, the ripples will spread out and out touching and changing the lives of many. As you sow, so shall you reap. When you sow discord and disharmony, you reap discord and disharmony. Whereas when you sow peace and harmony, the harvest of peace and harmony shall be great. Not just for you, but for all those souls, with whom you come into contact.”
So, it’s really about shifting your consciousness and, you know, the times that we live in today, it is a war of consciousness. You can say, this is right, or this is right. I believe in this, or I believe in that, but we’re really, we are having a war of consciousness. The consciousness that are fighting are the consciousness of separation and individuality that fosters fear because we’re alone in the world and we have to defend ourselves. There’s us and them, so there’s hierarchy. I have to be above them, power. That’s one consciousness. It’s the current consciousness, but it’s the old consciousness as well. And then the current that already exists within you, consciousness is the consciousness of connection of interconnection and interdependence of wholeness. We are individuals part of a whole. And so that consciousness is a consciousness of love, of compassion, of caring for each other. And yet we get to still be individuals and express ourselves within that. We bring our optimal state and the best that we know and can bring the essence of our soul to the wholeness to make it as wondrous as it can be. But we see it as being part of contributing to the whole, as we are centered in ourselves and expressing ourselves. And so that’s the war of consciousness.
Now every quality in the world, so we’re taking peace, because this is the quality that we are focusing on today. It’s like, it’s a frequency, you’re opening the radio and you’re turning the switch, the dial to find the consciousness of peace. When you’re dialed into peace, you’re in that consciousness. If you then go into worry or to discord, you’re not in that radio station anymore. Now you’re in a different quality and different radio station of worry of misery, of discord, of hate, whatever it is. So imagine if all of us would switch to the consciousness of peacefulness right now, there would be peace on the planet instantly, right? Because we’d all be dialed in embodying having this felt sense of the consciousness of peacefulness. So just like there are wars on the planet right now, where people are fighting each other, not seeing each other as in ourselves, as sacred beings, sacred, magical beings of wonder on a wondrous planet. You and I, and anyone who wants to join can become a force for good for transformation. By connecting to the consciousness of wholeness, of interdependence, of love, of care. These are all qualities, frequencies that belong to this consciousness.
And so you can dial into peacefulness today. And as you walk around, not just meditating and being peaceful and then separating yourself from the world going like, I don’t want anybody to disturb my peacefulness. That’s one way. But if you can stay peaceful as you engage with the world, it is very powerful. Because suddenly you become a field for peacefulness and wherever you go, you’re on a zoom call with coworkers, you’re in your office, in a meeting, you’re with your family, you’re with friends, you’re at the store, wherever you are, you are dialed into peacefulness. It doesn’t mean that you’re like passive or that you don’t care about what’s going on in the world. And it doesn’t enrage you and you don’t see the injustice. It doesn’t mean that there is place for all of that, but there’s also place for peacefulness, and if we don’t dial into the frequency and the consciousness of peacefulness, we can’t bring it in. We are individually and collectively creating the world that we are living in.
We have created where we are today. Even if you don’t feel that you contributed to climate change, or you don’t feel that you contributed personally to racism or to sexism, but as a collective, we are one species, humanity. We have created, this is where we are today. And so we are the ones who can create what today can be also. So if we all dial in to a consciousness of peacefulness, peacefulness will reign in the world that you are touching. Whereas if you don’t and you connect to worry, whoever you’re going to touch is going to feel the vibrations of worry. So imagine yourself like this transparent bubble, you know, this beautiful bubble that’s shining. And in that you have this buffer of peacefulness that emanates from inside you, because you’ve dialed in to the consciousness of peacefulness. And you walk around today and you just say, today, I’m going to practice peacefulness. And when you see something that’s disturbing and upsetting acknowledge it, you might need to shift, but how quickly can you come back to peacefulness? Because even if something is disturbing, if you try to understand it from a peaceful place, you will elicit something else in you. You will see it from a different angle. You will have a different result or you’ll make a different decision. You’ll keep your heart open, trying to understand why is this so disturbing? What can I do differently?
So peacefulness is not about staying disconnected from the world. It’s about meeting the world from a place where you are this lake or this pond of peacefulness. And people can have a moment of a respite when they come in contact with you and go, oh, I needed this oasis of peace that you provide because we’re going through so much personally and collectively.
So wherever you’re watching this, leave me a comment. And I send you off with blessings of peacefulness, become an oasis of peace today for yourself, and for everyone you touch near and far.
Blessings.
