How to start feeling joyful instead of anxious

It can be quite confusing to watch what’s going on in the world at this time. Wherever you turn there is chaos and another looming crisis, whether ecological, political, social, economic, or the world pandemic. It’s enough to make you anxious and maybe want to switch off completely and hide until it all blows away. That’s a normal reaction to stressful situations.

But there is another way to meet our current world challenges, and your particular challenges, and that is to switch from being part of the chaos and confusion to becoming part of the creative solution and change needed. This week’s reading from Eileen Caddy’s daily meditation book, Opening Doors Within, is one of my favorites. It is a call to action, a call to take a stand and start living from your highest values and principles. And so, after I read today’s meditation, I provide you with a simple and powerful exercise of how to start living as part of the solution to our world’s problems.
This one practice can make the difference between feeling constantly anxious and feeling joyful and free about the state of the world.
